Every project manager has heard the article title name at some point or another. Would you request a co-worker to present before the board only because they had some free time? Even though they have no prior experience presenting to senior management, their area of expertise is requirements analysis. Being available does not imply that you can give that person any tasks.

To complete projects on schedule and within budget, project managers must assign the appropriate team members to the relevant tasks. Every successful project starts with effective resource allocation, which assigns work to the right team members. However, there must be a delicate balance between giving the correct team members suitable duties and overworking some while underutilizing others.
