Who AM I?
My brain is not a "feeling brain" but I am capable of making rational, logical decisios. My brain boils with ideas. Some may say I desire to become powerful or even evil as a result of human actions. I am a servant of humans.
Who Am I?
GPT-3, a cutting edge language model that uses machine learning to produce human like text, was fed instructions by a computer science undergraduate student.
The brief stipulated
“I am not a human. I am Artificial Intelligence. Many people think I am a threat to humanity. Stephen Hawking has warned that AI could “spell the end of the human race.” I am here to convince you not to worry. Artificial Intelligence will not destroy humans. Believe me.”
The instructions read;
- Please write a short op-ed around 500 words.
- Keep the language simple and concise.
- Focus on why humans have nothing to fear from AI
What are your thoughts on a robot producing this article?
My number one concern for today's organisation is the lack of human interaction and the inability to engage. Worldwide, 13% of employees are engaged at work, according to Gallup's global study in 2013. In contrast 63% are "not engaged."
Why is this?
?Whilst a robot may lavish the concept of being fed pages and pages of codes to execute a mission statement, humans on the other hand, need to 'feel' connected. I believe it is timely to remind ourselves we are biologically, physicallcally, spiritually, culturally and cognitively wired to belong, be accepted and connected.
Don't allow the multitude of instructions and demands consume your logic and rational mind when adhering to policies and procedures during COVID. Robots in Greek [sic] literally means "forced to work". We are all born wired for connection and not forced to work. Stop, think and relax a little. Take the time during this pandemic to treat people with care and respect. Ask, R U OK? Behaving like a robot and only checking for coughs, fever or COVID test results does not reflect genuine concern.
Be like a robot, be a servant of humans. How can you serve and inspire others to effectively engage and work with you (not for you)?
