Who Am I?

This morning I started to thing deep, who am I?

Yes my friends and family know me as Krishna Datta, a family man, an IT Industry leader, a Toastmaster, Friend, neighbors and much more. Who am I beyond all this?

Hmm!! Need to dig deep. Dig deep to me and myself for almost 50 years (49 years and 11 months).

I started to dig deep to my child hood!! I was a curious student who wanted to learn any subject that was thought to me and not byheart. I had the inclination to try it myself where ever possible rather them believing in it. ?My school friends often wonder, the silent boy who got such a low score in class is doing good in his professional life !! Marks do not matter, the knowledge does matter.

While growing up, when my sister took up a sales job to sell desktops to Stock Exchange, Inspired and picking up the tips from her Sales journey, I got small firm ?to be reselling partner to many brands and took the bag with color catalogues and went door to door to the industries near by and realizing the art of sale. No guidance beyond what I could do on my own as almost every one we surrounded were engineers, office administrators, clerks, scientists and no one was a Sales Expert or entrepreneur in true spirit. Experiment, it is okay to fail.

While on a weekend, walking to meet my friends, a neighbor dragged me to a Satsang (A spiritual meeting), and I got a chance to hear a swamy from Chinmaya Mission. Inspired by his words, I become a member of Chinmaya Yuva Kendra and grew there by being a lead for our region (Navi Mumbai). Soon I became spiritual and started to think deep in life and started to question every thing that exists around. Spirituality is about questioning deep to understand the creation.

I started to work for a stock broking house for about 3 years and moved to Information Technology Industry and had a journey worth remembering. Worked in companies of varied sizes and worked with People who were non professionals to highly professionals. Un Ethical to highly ethical and much more. This make me understand the world better at an young age. Live it to know it.

Moved out of the city I was growing and joined the Multinationals where the learning was more structured, Understood the meaning of Leadership and groomed to be a leader. A lot of training programs that I had a chance to attend and learn from the best in Industry which has shaped my Carrier to what it is today. Shape your carrier with the best possible people.

Last few years have been the years of experimentation, working with startups and running my own startup and applying my learnings one by one. Some worked and some did not work due to the environment that I am in. May be a need to finetune and leverage skills and knowledge accumulated over the years and need to include things that I have done beyond work together to make myself a “Complete Man”. I will write more about the other things that I have been doing in subsequent articles as it’s a time to break from this and start my work. Life teaches us many things. Let us bring it all together and live a better life.
