Who are all the Gurus of Sikhism

Who are all the Gurus of Sikhism

Guru Nanak (1469–1539) He is the founder of the Sikh faith and author of many of the hymns that form the sacred texts of the Sikhs.

Guru Angad (1504–1552) He is the father in a sense, of the Sikh script or alphabet, Gurmukhi.

Guru Amar Das (1479–1574) Introduced the Manjhi system of spreading the faith through trained clergy. Guru Amar Das built the foundation of what finally be the written and compiled Adi Granth, the holy book of the Sikhs, and helped establish many key ritual, including the Anand Karaj, the wedding ritual of the Sikhs.

Guru Ram Das (1534–1581) Founder of the Sikh holy city of Amritsar, he was behind the eventual creation of the Golden temple.

Guru Arjun (1563–1606) Guru Arjun, whose name is sometimes also spelt as Arjan, installed the first edition of the Adi Granth inside the Harmandir Sahib, the sanctum sanctorum of the Golden Temple, and created a masand system of collecting tax, settling civil disputes and encouraging the donation of 10 percent of house holding earning to Sikh charitable institutions. The first martyr among the Sikh gurus, Guru Arjun was tortured to death under the instructions of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir because he refused to convert to Islam.

Guru Hargobind (1595–1644) One of the most militarily powerful gurus, he started a tradition of active armed resistance and the creation of a military force to defend the Sikh faith and to resist Mughal Islamic persecution and forced conversions.

Guru Har Rai (1630–1661) He tried to push the idea of peace and non-confrontation between the Sikhs and the Mughals, especially by befriending the moderate, pluralistic Dara Shikoh, brother of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.

Guru Nanak was the founder of Sikhism and preached social equality with his words 'There is no Hindu nor Musalman'…he spoke against many evil practices and superstitions and was a social reformer…his travels are called Udasi's all he did on foot with Bhai Mardana (Muslim born follower) from Mecca to Medina, Lanka, Nepal, China to preach his message of Ik Onkar…Langar tradition was started by him when he use those 5 rupees to feed poor Sadhu's telling father that he did a gr8 business…wrote japji sahib which is first bani in Guru Granth Sahib, tav prasad savaiye…for more see Guru Nanak Sakhis on Sikhi Wiki like Sajjan Thug, Haridwar sakhi, mecca Sakhi, Bhai Lalo modesty,

He then conferred the Guruship to Bhai Lehna later called Guru Angad who was former Durga or Chandi worshipper but left her worship later on and believed in Parbrahma one Almighty….a according to some Sikh historians Chandi or Durga give darshan to Hindu follower when Guru Nanak was about to arrive and with 8 arms she said Guru Nanak is no one then Manifestation of supreme Lord itself who took birth to spread knowledge and remove ignorance but many organizations can't let us speak these historic events because they have their own agenda's

Guru Angad then pass Guruship to Guru Amar Das who did sewa and initialize Langar Pratha spoke against Sati Pratha, veil wearing of Maharaja's wife as she became depressed and ultimately died…he was longest living Guru 95 years old..he wrote Anand Sahib present in Guru Granth Sahib. Guru Ram Das Ji was responsible for Construction of Golden Temple and construction stone was laid by Hazrat Mian Mir…he later pass Guruship to Guru Arjan on merit. Guru Arjan Dev is mostly known for supreme sacrifice and shabad 'Your will is sweet Almighty Waheguru (Lord)” and sat on hot iron pan

Guru Hargobind Ji sixth Guru very strong in physique and masculinity…always had a hawk like 10th Guru and was a great warrior with martial art skills because during those times Mughal forces had completely conquered India it was important to make Hindus fight against tyrants…he rejected miracles and scold his son for doing so (Atal Rai) as he made a child alive from snake bite…Atal Rai then climbed from 15 feet building…he won many battles especially defeated Painde Khan (not to be confused with another one who faced 10th master)…Bandi Chorrh Divas (prisoner liberation day) is celebrated after him called Diwali by Hindus as he liberated 52 princes…his uncle Prithi chand was jealous as he was given Guruship and called Snake charmer, maid like putana to feed infant Guru, servant to mix poison but nothing could harm the sixth master as he had some blessing…all fell on his feet and realized mistake

Guru Har Rai son of Baba Gurditta…Gurditta was son of Guru Hargobind. Guru Harkrishan who took small pox on himself by curing sufferers in Delhi …Gurdwara Bangla Sahib in delhi is dedicated to him. Guru Tegh Bahadur father of Guru Gobind Singh and son of Guru Hargobind Ji who sacrificed himself to protect Kashmiri Pandit lineage and is called Hind Di chadar. Guru Gobind Singh Ji who is called Baaja wala (Hawk holder),Sarbans Dani (supreme sacrificer) for sacrificing his whole family his father,mother,4 sons and in end himself also ending his Sodhi lineage starting from Guru Ram Das…

But no one had guts to face his charm… a 10,000 Mughal force led by Painde khan ran from 40 or 100 Sikhs when Guru Gobind Singh hit an arrow right into Painde Khan's ears he never performed miracle…he made Khalsa Panth and made a new identity and baptized five beloveds from their Sikhism was given a new identity though the founder is Guru Nanak as he was the first Guru…a Muslim poet became so pre occupied with Guru that he said 'Had their been no Gobind Singh all had been circumcized' mean Naa Kahu ab ki naa Kahu tab ki agar naa hote Guru Gobind Singh toh aaj sunnat hoti sabki….

The reason being Mughals attacked from North always and had their been no Sikhs it wouldn't be easy for Maratha's,Rajputs….he had no Bani in Guru Granth Sahib….he left abode with his horse unseen and said 'Sab Sikhan Ko Hukam hai Guru Maaneyo Granth' its a supreme command to see light of all Gurus in Guru Granth Sahib words he wasn't seen after that and went to Sachkhand after stabbed by two Pathans when he was sleeping….Guru Gobind Singh Ji was very jolly as child he used to be playful and played sports like Hockey (Khido Khundi),falconry, swordsmanship,…many historians have heated debate whether Dasam Granth is written by Guru Gobind Singh Ji or not….he knew Persian, arabic, urdu, hindi, sanskrit, and many languages and even wrote Zafarnama in Persian language…he knew more than 15 languages if we see his Gurbani

The bani of 6 Gurus is present in Guru Granth Sahib along with some Hindu, muslim saints like Sheikh Farid, Kabir, Dhanna Bhagat (Guru Nanak, Guru Angad Dev, Guru Amar Das, Guru Arjan Dev, Guru Ram Das Ji, Guru Tegh Bahadur) The Namdhari Sikhs are mostly not considered right by mainstream Sikhs because they follow human Gurus whereas a Sikh only bows to Guru Granth Sahib who is an amalgamation or light of all 10 Guru's…Namdhari’s also worship cow, fire and believe in circumbabulation. Jo bole so Nihaal, sat Sri Akal.
