Chinese game company Century Games, a subsidiary of Century Huatong, has generated $500 million in revenue from Whiteout Survival overseas after 1 year of operation. Whiteout Survival is a survival strategy game with a glacial apocalypse theme that originally released for smartphones in February 2023. The US, South Korea, and Japan are the three largest markets for the game, accounting for over 50% of revenue. According to Sensor Tower, Whiteout Survival was the #1 grossing mobile game from a Chinese publisher overseas during February 2024, ahead of Last War: Survival Game (First Fun), Legend of Mushroom (4399), Genshin Impact, and Honkai: Star Rail (MiHoYo).??

Blizzard rumored to return to China next month?
Blizzard Entertainment is set to announce a renewed partnership with NetEase to relaunch its PC games in the China market according to a new report from Chinese media outlet CoreEsports. The report comes after multiple months of rumors that Blizzard had signed a new deal with NetEase, with the current expectation being that an announcement will be made by late March or early April. Blizzard PC games had originally been shut down by NetEase in January 2023 after the two companies had failed to agree on renewal terms after a 14-year collaboration. Recent reports, including one from 36Kr in January, suggested that Blizzard had been exploring partnerships with other Chinese publishers to reintroduce its games with back into the market, but that it had ultimately decided to rekindle its partnership with NetEase.?
