Blood donation?
Earlier this month, members of our Thessaloniki team rolled up their sleeves for a noble cause – a blood donation that took place at Agios Pavlos General Hospital. As White Research, we would like to express our appreciation towards the nursing staff for their professional and friendly attitude, and we would like to urge more people to donate blood often. It's a simple yet impactful way to help out and make a big difference for people who need it the most, as it gives them the means to fight one more day for life.?
Women in Science?
On February 11th, we marked the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. It was an occasion to recognize and celebrate the remarkable achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). We had the privilege of engaging in meaningful conversations with some of our brilliant female colleagues, who shared their valuable insights and experiences. They highlighted how women have made essential contributions in STEM fields despite facing various challenges and biases. We were impressed by their determination, passion and perseverance, and we applaud them for their outstanding work and dedication to advancing science and innovation.?
DE-CONSPIRATOR?
We are pleased to announce the start of an impactful project, DE-CONSPIRATOR, aimed at tackling one of today's biggest challenges: the spread of false information by foreign countries. This issue, known as Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI), is a major concern because it can confuse people, spread fear, and divide communities, all of which can harm the trust in democratic systems.?
DE-CONSPIRATOR is a research project funded by the Horizon Europe Programme, set to run for three years with a budget of about three million euros. Its goal is to understand and fight against the tactics used by countries like Russia and China, who often spread misleading information to push their own agendas. The project will specifically study how false information is created and how it spreads. Additionally, it will create an extensive multilingual list of instances where false information has been spread while also investigating why such misinformation campaigns are effective and, lastly, assess whether current laws are strong enough to combat the spread of FIMI.?
White Research is responsible for disseminating and communicating the project's findings while leading the stakeholder engagement activities and the Exploitation and IPR management.?

R-Map
We are excited to announce the launch of R-MAP. This innovative project aims to address the growing urban and rural gap, which the rise in remote work trends has intensified. As remote work continues to reshape our society, R-MAP seeks to understand, predict, and tackle the multiple impacts that it has had on both urban and rural regions across Europe.?
R-MAP will conduct extensive research over the next three years to gain an in-depth understanding of the complex dynamics of remote work practices. During this time, the project aims to create innovative frameworks that assess the social, economic, and spatial impacts of remote work, use advanced modelling techniques to predict future trends, evaluate potential impacts, and engage policymakers and other key stakeholders to shape inclusive and sustainable policies.?
White Research will lead communication and dissemination efforts, organize cross-regional dialogues, and establish an advisory board to ensure the project findings are widely and clearly communicated.??
HumMingBird policy event
After four years of dedicated research under the Horizon 2020 project, the HumMingBird research project has gathered insights into migration patterns, motivations, and emerging geographies. In an effort to tackle the complexities of migration flows towards the European Union, the team is hosting a policy event titled "Managing Versatility in Migration Flows towards the EU".??
The event aims to engage European and national policymakers, alongside experts from think tanks and civil society organizations, to translate research findings into actionable policies. To do so, four-panel sessions will cover various aspects of migration dynamics, offering a platform for collaborative dialogue and problem-solving.??
Participation in the event is open to all, with in-person or online options available. To contribute to these discussions, you can find the agenda here and register here.?
