White noise, sounds sleepy!

If you are a lucky person, who can sleep through bombing sounds, late night traffic in a busy city, a snoring partner or a mad dog’s barking, than you might skip reading. But if you find it difficult to sleep, then it might sound intriguing for you to know that there exists a tool that can help you sleep well. What is white noise?

White noise is defined in the same way as white light. As white light is a combination of all other frequencies of light, similarly white noise is also a combination of all other frequencies of sound that a human can hear. When all these audible and perceivable frequencies of sound are put together, the signal we get is a white noise.

These frequencies range from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, which are heard at the same time. White noise is also heard naturally as rain, waterfalls and wind etc.

A white noise works by masking all other noises in your surroundings. White noise generators or playback recorders are used to create a relaxing environment in which you are not disturbed by every small detail of sound you hear. According to Seth S. Horowitz, who is author of the book The Universal sense: How Hearing Shapes Mind, “The simple version is that hearing still works while you're asleep," it only helps you by reducing your neural ability to detect changes in sound in your surroundings.

Benefits.

It helps you with developing a daily routine, getting timely to bed with a proper hygiene. It keeps your surrounding quiet, at least for you, you will simply be unable to recognize any sound in the environment, which can otherwise disturb you.

It signals your busy brain to stop thinking too much, it shuts down your brains activity and makes you feel free from all that daily worries and undisciplined thoughts. That is one reason it is used by yogis to meditate.

It is a guaranty that waking up after sleeping in a white noise environment makes you feel fresher and healthier. Moreover you can use it anywhere anytime, so why don’t give it a try for the sake of your sleep.
