Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts Receives Grant from Bayer Fund

Donation to Educate and Empower Young Girls through STEAM Programming

Harrisburg, PA (Feb. 21, 2024) – Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts announced today it received a grant for $25,000 from Bayer Fund, a philanthropic arm of 拜耳 in the U.S. ,Whitaker Center will use the funds to enhance and expand its Girls in STEAM initiatives, including summer discovery camps in 2024.

"This grant represents a shared vision to empower young girls and cultivate a more inclusive and equitable future by encouraging them to pursue their passions in the STEAM field."

The donation from Bayer Fund will support STEAM workshops and learning experiences while fostering an environment where girls can thrive, innovate, and envision themselves as leaders in traditionally underrepresented fields.?

In 2023, Bayer Fund awarded $12.1 million in grants to more than 2,300 charities and nonprofit organizations to help address essential needs in food and nutrition, STEM education, and health and wellness. Since 2017, nonprofit organizations across the U.S. have received nearly $90 million from the Bayer Fund.?
