When I was a kid, don't let me or my siblings complain "that isn't fair!"We were immediately hit with...."When you were born who told life would be fair? It's not. Deal with it."-Dr. James Benson Parks III and Dr. Georgia Thomas ParksWe learned to focus on what we can control (ourselves) and not so much on empty complaints. #novictimsIf we said we were bored, we immediately hit with...."Oh, okay. Let me fix that: Here's a [mop, broom, scrub brush, rake, shovel, cleaning rags, vacuum, etc.]. Go clean [whatever it was] and it better be spotless.
"We learned to a. Always occupy our time, even if it's just thinking about something that makes you happy; b. Everything we think isn't everything we need say ?? #emotionalintelligence
My parents were huge advocates of changing what you can change and not to get caught up in victimhood. When we would complain about something, their response usually related to what we can do to change it. They didn't tolerate constant complaining about problem without solutions and actions to resolve it in some way. That was whining and they weren't having that.Instead of "I can't", reframe your mindset to "I will find a way." You can.
