Whimsical Muse

Flowers bow their pretty heads and sleep

Many secrets they care to keep 

Patiently waiting for the new day

Awakening with the suns warm glance

Rising within a trance

Their beauty on full display

A spectrum of colours, their petals vibrant and nectar sweet

Attracting the bees who enjoy a feast

Beautiful scents drift on the breeze

Honeysuckles, roses and lilacs in bloom

Nature’s own bespoke perfumes

A sea of wild blue bells

Sway in the wind

Hues of dusky blues

Whimsical muse

Harmonies of summer songs

Echo down from the tree tops 

Various tunes the birds sing

On a loop that doesn’t stop

Sounds that soothe the mind

Giving your Soul wings to fly

The freedom 

To seek and to find

Love and aspirations perfectly entwined 

Dreaming away

As you hold and softly blow the dandelion clocks

Like fairy wands they leave you enchanted 

Watching the wispy seedlings fly high into the air

Taking nothing for granted 

Making wishes with imaginary flair

Like floating feathers on tail winds

Hope and intentions set free

Believing with all your heart 

That you’ve released the missing key

Knowing what’s meant to be will find it’s way home to you

Cupid’s arrow with golden flights 

It’s target in full view
