While We Wait

We serve a living God!

Every Christian knows this. Even non-Christians know that for a fact.

Our God answers prayers and has the power to do things that no one else can. That is why we pray to Him, right? The best part about walking and working with God is that He answers prayers.

I have never had an unanswered prayer. Never!

I want to believe that it’s the same thing with you too.

But wait.

If He has answered all our prayers, why then do we still have wants and worries.

Here’s is the thing.

He never answers the way we want it!

HE ANSWERS AT HIS OWN TIME

Because he knows what is best for you and me.

We all call Him God, the Maker of Heaven and Earth. But do we really understand the Fullness of His Glory?

If we do, why then do we want our Maker to serve us? Why then do we want Him to answer our prayers when we want?

Which product tells its manufacturer how it wants to be made?

Brethren, our God, is no magician performing at a circus that pulls out coins from people's ears or rabbits out of a hat just because people ask him to.

He is God

And so when we make requests of Him, we need to learn how to wait

Imagine making a request of your Father, Boss, Governor or President and insisting on when they must grant your request?

Why then do we tell God when He should answer us? Why do we act like spoiled kids when He does not answer us when we want?

We can never tell our Maker what to do. Why?

It shows a lack of trust in Him, and trusting in God is essential in our walk with Him.

Learning to wait on the Lord is a crucial aspect of walking with Him. Whenever you are in doubt, take a good look at Job.

Here’s a question for you.

What do you think would happen if God answered everyone's prayers at the same time? Imagine the chaos that would happen if billions of prayers were answered at the same time!

And yet, our God is not a god of chaos.

That is why He lets lines fall in pleasant places for us in such a manner that everything works according to His plan.

That is where your trust in Him comes in. It shows that you trust that he is in control and is doing what is best for you.

So we need to learn to wait on the Lord. It shows that you trust Him, and you are willing to let Him lead you.

But how do we wait?

It is easy to write the words.

It is a whole different game when you haven't eaten for days, and there is a temptation to sin to solve that issue.

It is different when you owe years of rent or when friends and family no longer pick your calls because they are tired of your endless requests for money.

It is different while waiting on God for years for a job, a partner or good health, or that issue that has plagued you for years.

How do you wait on God when your needs are about to consume you?

As difficult as it might sound, we need the right attitude.

Brethren, we are young, and so we all have big dreams that we want so badly. Most of us want our prayers answered even before we have finished saying them.

That's ok. We are youths, after all.

But we need the right attitude. We need to understand that He knows our needs better than we can express them. And that He is working out something for you even as you are reading this line.

Just hold on. Ask for the grace, wisdom, knowledge and understanding to do what you need to be doing. While you wait, ask Him to show you what you need to be doing, when you need to be doing it and how you need to be doing it while waiting on Him.

Let God be God brethren, and it will all end in praise.
