WHILE THE NUMBER OF HVAC UNITS GROWS, SO DO TEMPERATURES AND POWER BILLS
According to MIT Climate Portal, “the number of air conditioning units is expected to triple from 1.6 billion units today, to 4.8 billion in 2050”. Considering that at least 25% of the energy produced worldwide today is used to heat and cool homes and commercial buildings, we need to seriously consider the impact this increase is going to have on our grid and ultimately the environment.
Air conditioning units are critical to improving the standard of living, especially as temperatures rise across the world. According to NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration , 2023 was not only the warmest year in the agency’s 174-year climate record, but it was the warmest by far. This doesn’t seem to be a fluke however, with NOAA’s Chief Scientist Dr Sarah Kapnick warning that extreme weather events will become more frequent and severe.? A number of US states have already begun to feel the effects of a strained power grid, with rolling blackouts occurring during heatwaves.
This puts one question at the top of a lot of minds: How can we address this climate crisis while maintaining a quality standard of living?
HOW WE CAN HELP
Deploying advanced intelligence, Encycle drastically improves commercial HVAC management and operational health, reducing operating costs and carbon footprint.
As the only utility-endorsed HVAC optimization software, our Machine Learning-based applications seamlessly integrate into maintenance workflows and improve the efficiency of multi-site commercial and industrial companies and drive energy usage reductions.
Using our multi-patented self-learning software, Swarm Logic?, we are able to provide the ability to autonomously optimize each building’s HVAC. Factoring in the internal building thermal conditions, HVAC operational status, weather and the location’s historical operating parameters, the software continuously formulates real-time demand strategies. The results, automated monitoring, extended life of your rooftop units, improved occupancy comfort and a significant reduction in HVAC energy usage and carbon footprint.

Recently we announced our significant results in customer success and sustainability, as energy savings surpassed $20 million and carbon emissions reductions exceeded 100,000 metric tons. Reaching these milestones reinforces the positive impact we’re making in energy efficiency and decarbonization. We expect those numbers to jump significantly as more businesses feel the pressure on their bottom line and become more focused on their sustainability efforts.?
