While Los Angeles Burns, Congress Sanctions the ICC.

While Los Angeles Burns, Congress Sanctions the ICC.

My fellow Americans,

Say what you will, vote for whatever party you like, just don't be fooled.

Whether you agree with it or not, the United States has the most powerful military in the world. Our military budget is more than China, Russia, India, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan, and South Korea, COMBINED.

Let that sink in.

Yet, despite this overwhelming power, our politicians continue to push for even more military spending, while our own cities crumble, our schools lack resources, our healthcare system remains broken, and our infrastructure is falling apart.

Yesterday, Congress passed a bill sanctioning the International Criminal Court (ICC). Why?

Why, at a time when Los Angeles is burning, when homelessness and poverty are on the rise, when our veterans are struggling to survive, would our leaders prioritize sanctioning an international body that has little direct impact on us? What does this say about their priorities?

It’s a wake-up call.

The real needs of America are not being addressed. Our country is struggling with issues that directly impact our daily lives—housing, education, healthcare, mental health, and the growing divide between the wealthy and the working class. But instead of tackling these urgent issues, our elected officials are preoccupied with maintaining a global dominance that comes at a massive cost to taxpayers.

Consider this: The cost of passing a single bill in Congress can exceed $125,000 when factoring in legislative resources, time, and manpower. And this is just for the process of passing a bill—it doesn’t account for the billions spent annually on military operations, weapons development, and foreign interventions.

Imagine if even a fraction of that money was redirected toward solving our domestic issues. Imagine if, instead of sanctioning international bodies, we invested in housing solutions for our homeless population, mental health services for those in crisis, or rebuilding our crumbling schools and hospitals.

I'm talking about getting our priorities straight. I'm talking about recognizing that, while it’s important to maintain national security, it’s equally important to secure the well-being of our citizens at home.

Having the greatest military in the world is supposed to make us feel safe. So why does it seem like we are so afraid of everything? Why are we constantly told to fear the world—fear other countries, fear immigrants, fear ideas that challenge the status quo? If our military dominance is meant to bring peace of mind, why do we live in a constant state of anxiety and distrust?

Let’s be clear: More tanks and bombs won’t fix our broken healthcare system. More sanctions won’t feed hungry families. And more military bases overseas won’t provide affordable housing for struggling Americans.

The question we need to ask is simple: Who are these politicians really serving? Because from where we stand, it doesn’t look like it’s the American people.

Wake up, America. It’s time to demand better.

Let’s shift our focus from endless wars and international posturing to the real needs of our people. Let’s hold our leaders accountable for prioritizing humanity, both abroad and at home. And let’s start by refusing to be distracted by political theater when there are real problems right here in our own backyard.

America doesn’t need more military might. It needs more humanity.

Many have talked about "revolution". But revolution will only come with a mass-disrupter event unfortunately. An event that cannot be ignored as if it's not happening.
