THAT WHICH WE STRIVE FOR TODAY, MAY END UP STRESSING US OUT TOMORROW!
The passage, ‘One’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses’ (Luke 12:15), reminds those who tend to cling tightly to their earthly possessions that, as five prisoners in Jules Verne’s, ‘The Mysterious Island’, who escaped by hijacking a hot air balloon found out when the wind carried them out over the ocean, and had to dump everything they had, including the heavy basket in which they were riding, in order to survive, to get everything we need, we have to choose the Kingdom of God above all else. In other words, their lives were spared because they learned what they could live without. So let the knowledge that: 1) Our heavenly Father knows all our needs and, at His time, He will meet us at our point of need; 2) Some of the things we think will be a blessing to us, can end up being sources of burden; and 3) That which we strive for today, may end up stressing us out tomorrow; teach you, before taking on any other activity each day, to pray for wisdom to know when to hold on and when to let go!FG. www.fgtalks.com
