Which way to go?

Which way to go?

Pathfinding or pathmaking?

A good question.

And the answer is yes…

… both, and it depends.

Looking back on my life, I’ve been a quiet pathmaker. I’ve stepped out and done things that were not usual in my culture or era. And I’ve created room for others to follow.

Yet I have other friends who are brilliant pathfinders, creating a way through obstacles using insight gained from the past.

And the Sage of Ecclesiastes offers wise advice about paying attention to the seasons: there is a time for everything.

However, I wonder if what we face now calls for pathmakers to get their boots on and create a different way forward.

We don’t know the destination but suspect there is a better way.

Pause. See differently. Re-story ??

We all feel it, see it, hear it, sense it, without being able to put it into words, there is this suspicion, has been there for a while, Sue, that there is a better way. There must be a better way. Just because we don't have the words, must not hold us back from trying to do better. Suspicion is a wonderful way to put it almost qualifies as a physical sensation in our mind, which I don't think is a real thing, but that is where it pulls the energy.

Dear Sue you left me with doubts where is my way forward in front of what we face. Meanwhile I simply love this path, the path of life. "Pathmaker, your footprints are the only road, nothing else. Pathfinder, there is no road; you make your own path as you walk. As you walk, you make your own road, and when you look back you see the path you will never walk again. There is no road; only trails on the sea."

Great wonderings, Sue. Pathmaking vs pathfinding, not sure I have ever thought about the difference. Until today :) Thank you!
