There are dozens of certificates, certifications, and degrees out there for supply chain professionals. So how do you decide which ones are best for you?
To help you navigate the options, I created a LinkedIn Learning course that provides the basic information you need to make better decisions.

Supply chain certifications can help you be more successful and make more money. Whether you're still in school or looking for a way to advance your career, supply chain certifications can be a valuable asset.
But there are a lot of variables to consider, and you need to do some research to decide which certifications will help your career the most.
In the first chapter of this course, I start by introducing you to a bunch of different certifications and the professional communities that offer them.
- APICS and ASCM credentials
- CSCMP credentials
- ISM credentials
- CILT credentials
- CIPS credentials
- SOLE credentials
- Supply Chain Canada and SCMA credentials
- DDI credentials
- MITx credentials
- University certificates
- IBF credentials
- Six Sigma credentials
- Other common credentials
My goal in this chapter was to offer an agnostic overview of the leading certifications in supply chain, logistics, procurement, and operations.
The final three chapters cover the topics common to all supply chain certifications—supply chain functions, processes, and jargon—allowing you to refresh your knowledge quickly. We walk through the essential supply chain concepts that you should know for all of the certifications. That way, you can make a smart decision about which credentials you want to pursue and, at the same time, you'll get a big head start on your certification journey.
Even if you've been working in supply chains for a while, I'm pretty sure you'll pick up some useful new terms and tips from this course. Most importantly, you'll get a really broad perspective about the credentials that are available, the organizations that offer them, and the topics they cover.
Using these tips and tricks, you can identify the best certification path for your career and be better prepared to pass the qualifying exam.
