Which route is right for you?

Which route is right for you?

Happy Wednesday everyone, I hope you’ve had a lovely week so far!?

Recently I’ve been enjoying watching love island, it is a bit weird to see people around my age on there though haha. I LOVE seeing brands jump on the popularity and using memes to tap into that demographic. Have you been watching? ???

Now today we are talking about friendly competition, positioning yourself as an authority figure and why you don’t NEED a marketing degree.?

Let’s get started!! ???

Today I HAD to speak about prime video ???

Incase you missed it Netflix recently began its long-awaited crackdown on password sharing.?

The new changes mean that Netflix will be using a variety of tools to spot when people are using another household’s account – and prevent them from doing so.?

This allows them to increase subscriptions within those currently using the platform.?

Netflix users weren’t best pleased … and this provided a brilliant opportunity for a bit of friendly competition.?

This short and simple tweet from Prime video is a great example of a brand relevant meme ???

P.S my thoughts are with whoever had to scroll through five years of tweets for this ???

I’m really excited to welcome today's guest, Founder and CCO of Just Market It Ayesha Patel . She is speaking about why as a marketer qualifications aren’t the be all and end all and sharing a few ways you can learn about marketing!?

?

“With full confidence, I firmly believe that having self-belief and a creative mind can outweigh traditional qualifications in marketing. As humans, we are naturally inclined to endless learning, so much so I have read success stories that have attested to learning more on the job than in the classroom. Therefore, I firmly stand behind the belief that having a strong creative mindset is an invaluable asset in this industry. If you possess this get and have a passion for marketing, do not be afraid to throw yourself in there!?

When it comes to learning about marketing or starting your own marketing agency, there are a few pieces of advice to keep in mind. First, take the time to research other agencies for inspiration and to help shape your own approach. Building a network of industry connection is also key for staying up to date and engaged, both locally and internationally. Importantly, if you run your own agency, it is crucial to stay patient and not undervalue your own work, as success takes time. However, by staying the course and providing quality work, you can grow your client base and gain valuable referrals along the way.?

Take Aways: Fortunately, with the rise of digitalisation, marketing agencies will always be in demand which means there is time for you to become successful and climb the ladder.?

Last but not least! In the ever-changing world of marketing, trends and social media are always evolving. This means it’s crucial for professionals in the industry to stay alert and flexible in order to keep up.”?

?

I LOVE this advice!! I don’t have a marketing degree and I have learnt through online courses, webinars and consuming content. It can be so easy to keep up with trends online and find value in the content of amazing creators in here. Today's advice is something that I feel is crucial to navigating work life balance in a job where you can feel inclined to stay online ???

Trust me I get it, as a social media manager you can get hundreds of notifications a day and it does make you feel like you need to be constantly available.?

But we work in marketing, so you CAN take a step back without it being the end of the world.?

So I’m saying to schedule regular digital detoxes to disconnect for a moment and recharge ???

It doesn’t have to be a week off of the internet, instead start by taking half an hour to get some fresh air or to settle down with your favourite book.?

Stepping away if only for 10-15 mins can allow you to recentre! ???

Today my post prompt is to show your industry knowledge and speak about a recent update that has interested you.?

Maybe this is an emerging platform such as lemon 8, a new feature such as third-party Instagram story scheduling, or even a successful campaign that caught your attention.?

?

I look forward to reading these, please use #DiaryOfAYoungMarketer so I can come and show your post some support.?

?

Have a lovely rest of the day???
