Which retailer are you? Cross-channel / Multi-channel / Omni-channel
Which of the 3 models does your retail business apply? In New Zealand, the larger retailers are racing to achieve true omni-channel but there are quite a few smaller retail chains (4-20 stores) that are still grappling with multi-channel. I think that is because there is still a bit of confusion about what it all means.
I just found this video that is a great talking point about the difference between cross-channel, multi-channel and omni-channel. My favourite quote from Macy's Chief Store Offices "We've spent the last 153 years building warehouses... we've just called them stores."
Please comment below if you have an experience or an opinion about the NZ or Australian retail market. Its an area that I'm sure is going to continue to take up a lot of retail mind-space.
