WHICH PRIVATE AVIATION MODEL? CHARTER, JET CARD OR FRACTIONAL OWNERSHIP—BEST SUITS YOU?

There’s no doubt that flying private is a desirable way to travel. In today's modern world-2020, there are more options than ever before to board the private jet of your choice on a moment’s notice and fly to just about anywhere in the world.

The three models dominating today’s private aviation market are on-demand charter (like what you find with Access Jet Group), jet cards, and fractional ownership.

When it comes down to brass tax, private jet charter usually outstrips any of the benefits offered by jet cards or ownership, plus it gives you a better way to manage costs since you’re only paying for what you really need.

Let’s take a look at a few of the top considerations when private jet charter makes the most sense, no matter how often you travel:

Geographical Location

You’re based in or near a major metropolitan center. This means you can take advantage of many charter options without facing charges for repositioning.

Travel Logistics

The number of people in your party or the distances you travel often change from flight to flight. With charter, it’s easy to book the optimum aircraft for each trip. But with fractional shares and jet cards, these switches may be difficult or involve extraneous charges.

Travel Frequency

You make frequent round trips. Round-trip charter remains one of business aviation’s best bargains.

You usually fly fewer than 25 hours per year. Many jet cards are sold in minimum denominations of 25 flight hours while fractional shares typically start at 50 hours per year.

Flexibility in Travel Arrangements

Your travel schedule is often flexible. Flexibility allows you to take advantage of off-peak oversupply, empty legs and other discount charter deals.

You occasionally need to make immediate, unscheduled trips. Peak holiday times notwithstanding, charter can often have you in the air faster than a card or fractional program, which may require 12 hours’ or more advance notice.

Bottom Line

Using the above priorities, it’s easy to see how a private jet charter on-demand can provide major benefits compared to other private flight options. For the best pricing and availability, contact Access Jet Group let our team help you start planning your travels!

FAQs – LAST MINUTE CHARTER MISSIONS

Q) Can I have catering on board for a last minute flight?

A) Catering can certainly be arranged. Specific requests can be accommodated but it may require extra preparation time, which you might wish to avoid. Snacks and drinks are always available, and in most cases standard VIP catering will be provided.

Q) My airline flight is cancelled so I have booked a private jet flight instead. How do I get to the private terminal at the same airport?

A) Our team will send you full, clear directions to the FBO (private jet terminal). For larger airports, car transfers can be arranged within the site.

Q) Can I pay by bank transfer for last minute flights?

A) Absolutely. A credit card hold is required to secure the aircraft for flights at very short notice. But customers can choose to pay by other methods after the hold is taken.

Q) When will I have crew details for a last minute flight?

A) As soon as you confirm your booking, the crew will be arranged. Usually they are on standby nearby and full crew details will always be provided before the flight. The Captain will meet you at the FBO before boarding.

Q) The aircraft is ready, when can we take off?

A) All departures are subject to approval by Air Traffic Control. So while many flights can be off the ground almost immediately, sometimes there will be a wait for a take-off slot while the aircraft is cleared. At smaller airports, there are fewer slot restrictions and the runway is less busy, so take off can often be faster.

Q) Will I always get the aircraft of my choice when booking last minute?

A) There’s an old phrase that says “Beggars can’t be choosers,” but we do everything in our power to ensure that you get as close to the aircraft you want as possible. Because of our expansive network and partnerships, we’re usually able to secure the type of aircraft you’re looking for, and at an optimal price despite making a last minute reservation. This is one of the biggest advantages in working with us versus investing in a jet card or fractional ownership.
