Low cost Replica car powertrain.

We are looking for a low cost modern powertrain (E6 standard?) for replica vehicles destined to end up in the middle east . Our though is a i 4 cylinder (Turbo?) with a manual trans., Inline 5 cylinder or V-6. The vehicle weight will be about 2000 lbs wet. Looking for ideas. We will do some prototypes then maybe a run of ten, then???

This project is very cost sensitive and we are also thinking of the associated VAT and HP rated taxing for customers importing.

Looking for ideas...
