Which non-European investors were most active in 2022?
Good Morning fellow FinTech Fanatic,
Looks like we almost made it to the end of 2022, and traditionally you will find all kinds of articles with summaries, year lists, and predictions for the upcoming year.
An interesting ‘year list’ was presented by Sifted, and set its sights on non-European investors in European startups.
In 2022 international investors poured $22.6bn into European startups, according to data from Dealroom. That’s not quite the $36.2bn of 2021, but still the second-highest amount on record for interest in European startups from outside the continent.
Sifted listed the non-European funds making the most investments into European startups this year. A list with some familiar names.
It seems to be getting a tough year for Indian FinTech, as predicted by Rakesh Pozhath in a Bloomberg article.
He assumes the Indian $50 billion FinTech industry will face a tough 2023, as investments cool and tougher regulations will be introduced.
We will see what next year has in store for FinTech, but first, let’s have a look at the other FinTech news!
