Which Home Meal Kit Is Right For You?
As the world moves quicker and quicker, people have less time to grocery shop then prep and cook their food. I find that this is true especially among millennials and generation z. Young adults like to eat out and are realizing that it isn't ideal for cost and nutrition hence the new obsession with meal kits.
So, what is the difference between each service?
Hello Fresh
It provides options for almost any lifestyle, including vegetarian options, low calorie, and family-friendly. There is no commitment, you are able to cancel or skip weeks. Additionally, they offer so many delicious recipes and they all take around 20-30 minutes to make. Cost: $8.75 to $9.99 per serving, with up to 16 servings per week.
Freshly
Freshly provides weekly meals that match your needs from a menu of 30+ meals. These meals do not require any prep at all, just pop them into the microwave. Their meals are never frozen and only require minimal reheating, they're nutritious and cost less than many standard takeout options. Cost: $7.99 to $11.50 per serving, with up to 12 servings per week.
Blue Apron
It provides vegetarian and traditional options and is very similar to Hello Fresh in that the ingredients come pre-packaged for you to chop and add to the dish. Blue Apron certainly has some yummy options as well and I personally find their dishes a little more intricate than other meal kits. Cost: $7.49 to $9.99 per serving, with up to 16 servings per week.
