Which do you prefer as an entrepreneur or an intrapreneur? Let's Ponder!
What do you want to be in your career? An entrepreneur or an intrapreneur? The development of entrepreneurial skills is indispensable for those who want to choose one of these two options. What is your choice?
There are similarities as well as differences between the two concepts. What does it mean to be a startup owner or an employee that innovates? This is something I am going to tell you using my wealth of experience.
I suggest you first learn about a couple of things mentioned below:
I am going to tell you the value of understanding these things in my words. The business culture was the only thing I received in my blood from my family.
I had to gain knowledge and experience to be in the league of successful business owners. I burnt the midnight oil and worked on my various successful business ideas in Dell Technologies for several years to be at this level.
All things considered, I worked as an intrapreneur before setting up my own business in 2014. The time is now for me to be the guiding light for modern youngsters like you. The purpose is to help you climb the success and growth ladder without hassles.
What is a business founder?
You don’t become an entrepreneur just by starting a business to make money. You have to persevere to be worthy of this title. I have experienced this during my 9 years of entrepreneurial voyage.
I identified a need in the market. I dedicated my money, resources, and time to fulfill it. What is more important is that an entrepreneur has to create economic and professional opportunities for others.
My perseverance and the blessings of god have helped me achieve this incredible entrepreneurial feat. This is the way Virtual Oplossing has become one of the greatest successful business ideas of my career today.
This is the actual definition of a business founder.
What is an intrapreneur?
Anyone can be an intrapreneur. You just need to have some skills and a mindset for it. I used to be frequently tasked with various tasks during my employment with Dell Technologies.
I was always expected to convert those tasks into successful business ideas with my skills, knowledge, and experience.
Intrapreneurs are individuals employed within a company, entrusted with the responsibility of working on unique ideas or projects. They are afforded both the time and autonomy to cultivate their projects, much like entrepreneurs do.
Unlike entrepreneurs, however, intrapreneurs operate within the framework of an organization. They benefit from the extensive resources and capabilities that the company provides, enabling them to bring their ideas to fruition.

But How?
I have sailed both boats in my career. I can answer this easily from my experiences. Entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs are similar in these ways. But the nature and level of these similarities are always different between the two. Read below to know about it.
Both have a clear vision, work to achieve and offer innovation. There is no doubt about it. A business founder like me has a clear vision for ventures or products. But an intrapreneur has it to help his/her employer develop new projects and initiatives.
Both can identify growth, development, and success opportunities. A business founder utilizes it to take his company to the next level of growth and success whereas an intrapreneur does so for personal growth.
An entrepreneur weighs the ins and outs of everything and takes a calculated risk accordingly to grow a venture. But an intrapreneur walks the same path for the sake of the team working on a project or an initiative of a company.
As an intrapreneur at Dell, I always focussed on getting the best possible outcome from my resources using insider tech available. I used freedom to make strategic decisions at a team level.
Nowadays, I utilize my resources to achieve a larger goal. I do so to grow my business and the career of my teammates. I have developed freedom as an entrepreneurial skill to be able to take important creative decisions at a much bigger level.
I was always driven by a passion for my work as an intrapreneur. I was usually tasked with the responsibility of shaping the direction of business strategy. I was doing so at a team level. I am doing the same thing as a business founder as well.
An intrapreneur and a business founder have the same level of high dedication and motivation. I used it to get the best outcome from my team and keep them motivated all the time during my entrepreneurship tenure at Dell Technologies. It was my passion.
But I am an entrepreneur now. It has become my duty to stay motivated all the time. I keep myself full of dedication to achieving a mission and vision.
All my team members will seek motivation and dedication to be their best version. To ensure the success of business ideas, I have to keep this in mind as a business founder.
The world of business changes every second. These changes bring some challenges and setbacks. Both have to adapt to these changes.
What is more important is both have to work on overcoming problems that come with changes, innovations, advancements, challenges, and setbacks.
The Meaning of Being An Entrepreneur and Intrapreneur:
An entrepreneur and intrapreneur is an individual with a vision to achieve innovation. They have unlimited passion, motivation, adaptability, and resilience. Autonomy and decision-making habits must be a part of your character. The most important thing you must have as an entrepreneur is the ability to weigh the ins and outs of everything and take calculated risks.
These things must have told you the differences between the two. Therefore, I don't need to tell you the differences between the two separately.
The only thing you will need to know is the art of generating successful business ideas for growth as an intrapreneur as well as an entrepreneur. This is something I will tell you later in the future.
