Which company is better?

Would like to share some personal opinion. We live in a country where many people are still jobless but they try to get a job in any company. On the other hand, I get messages from some people as well who ask me to judge different IT companies in my opinion so that they can join accordingly.

First of all, I am noone to judge any company. People ask me which is better: Cognizant or Accenture, etc?

How can you expect me to judge these big giant IT Companies. Let me tell you that if I say #Cognizant is a great company, it does not mean that #Accenture is a bad company. Please understand the phrase what I mean.

Each and every company is a good company. It all depends on the project and the people you work with. I am not talking about small business companies where work-life is toxic but if you talk about big MNCs, as per my experience each and every company is great whether it is TCS or Accenture or Cognizant or IBM and so on.

P.S. Exceptions are always there even in Small Business Company which have good work-life balance.

It is rightly said; Employees don't leave the company, they leave the bad managers or colleagues. Companies are never bad, leaders make the company and are responsible for its success or failure.

Who are Leaders? They are noone but the people who are the employees in the company. They are the ones who make the company culture good or bad with their policies. Companies are never bad but it's the action of the people that makes the good or bad image of the company.

Let's understand in a different way. It might be possible two employees can have a different opinion about the same company. It can be good for the one while bad for the other. In this case, who is right? Both are right at their own place as per their experience. The number can be 6 from my end but it can be 9 from the opposite end. It's all game of the thought process, experience and understanding of the employee that makes the company good or bad. It might be possible one employee has good team where he is learning and growing too while on the other hand, another employee is not having a good project or a good team which makes him unhappy. Does that mean company is bad?

The answer is big NO.

We are removing different layers slowly and slowly, right? Now another layer comes that most of the people ask: Is there politics in the company?

Again, it's the matter of the team and the employees where these type of things happen. In the same company, one team can have great bonding and culture while another team don't have. So what do you call it, team is bad or company is bad because company is great for many employees and that's why company is known to the world because of it's great work over the years.

If you ask me about the Salesforce projects in the company or regarding your job role then I can help you with it but if you ask me to compare different companies which one to join then I would advise not to compare any company. It's just the matter of the team and the people you work with. I have heard from many employees of top MNCs that their company is not good. My dear friend, it takes a lot of effort to run a company and if that company has made its position in Fortune 500 then think about it, it can be your experience but don't assume that the company is bad. Employees either leaves the company for better compensation or they leaves the bad manager but it doesn't mean company is bad. It's good for many other employees.

For me, #Cognizant is a great company with great #Salesforce projects and I am proud to work in this organization and leading the team with a great bond with everyone. But it doesn't mean other companies are not good. If everyone improve themselves at their own level, each and every company will be good in the eyes of all the employees.

So, next time if you are going to ask someone about any company, think about it. It's your life and you have to take decision which company you are going to work with. If you have better offer in your hand, go and join it. Every person has different thought process. Some runs behind the money, some runs for the work-life balance and rest are neutral. At my experience, if you would ask my opinion: More package in small company or less package in big company. I would choose the latter because it's one life where I would prefer to balance both personal and professional life taking my health into consideration. If a small organization is paying you more, they will take the triple work from you. It has both pros and cons. Cons is that you will play with your health day and night. Pros is that you will get to learn a lot but you can not survive in such organizations for long term. If you have grabbed good experience, my preference is not the compensation but a work-life balance. Compensation automatically comes with experience. Be genuine with your work and grow in your career and life. Don't get confused, all MNCs are good companies. It just the experience of employees that makes it good or bad.

On this note, let's spread the positivity among everyone.

I agree with most of your comments. But you have mentioned at the end that compensation comes with experience. This is not actually true. With experience compensation will increase very slowly. However if you change companies using your experience then you will get the desired compensation. My experience with current company is 16 yrs and although I get hike but my compensation is way below market value. If I change now then it will come closer to the market value.

In the absence of HR or other essential stakeholders, the leaders can take charge of carving and driving the organization's culture.
