Which areas really are the best in London for co-working?

A recent article on the Facilities Management Journal  website examined the research compiled by startups.co.uk about where are the best areas in London for co-working.

Kings Cross, Central London, Camden, South West London and the South Bank all feature, and are recommended areas for co-working, dependent on your type of business (and boss).

Whilst I wouldn’t dispute these areas are all very popular with the co-working cohort (we’ve got 100s of co-working spaces and serviced offices to rent in these areas), there’s at least two more I would say they forgot…

Soho

Trendy Soho is one of the liveliest areas in London and attracts visitors from all over the world.

If you like places with character, you’ll love Soho – with lots of interesting little streets and alleyways to explore, you never know what you’ll find around the next corner! Over the past few decades, it has become a very fashionable spot for media companies and is where many TV companies have their offices, meaning you’ll often see well-known people in the area.

There are a huge number of co-working spaces in Soho which are, for such a great location, reasonably priced and affordable.

Bordered by Oxford Street, Charing Cross Road, Shaftesbury Avenue and Regent Street, Soho couldn’t be more central. Easily reachable on the tube via the Central, Piccadilly, Victoria, Northern and Bakerloo lines, it’s not surprising that it is so popular with small businesses.

Mayfair

Mayfair is full of beautiful Georgian architecture and leafy squares and if you’re looking  for a address to impress, Mayfair is definitely the area to settle.

Bounded by Hyde Park, Green Park, Regents Street, Piccadilly and Oxford Street it’s unsurprising Mayfair has earned an upmarket reputation.

Mayfair is popular with companies in the financial, law and business services sectors, so you’ll find plenty of asset management firms, management consultancies and solicitors in this locale.

Surrounded by tube stations served by the Central, Piccadilly, Victoria, Bakerloo and Jubilee lines, it’s an easy area to commute to.

There’s more locations I’d add but of course, as someone who works with companies locating and relocating every day - I guess that is not surprising!
