Where's your marketing failing you?

Where's your marketing failing you? Is it your messaging, your brand, website, SEO, social media, or your advertising?

There are so many aspects to your marketing these days it's hard to pinpoint where to start. Over the next couple of weeks, a series of articles will break down each of these areas.??We'll highlight some of the most common mistakes we've seen.

No matter where you are in business, messaging matters: you get it right, things get done; you get it wrong, well, they don't go as planned.

From products and services to colleges and employees: proper communication isn't as simple as marketers make it out to be.

So many salesmen and businesses will showcase their products and services by saying, buy our services, features, and benefits. They often forget about their customers and what they need, want, and desire. Also, to try to communicate to as many potential customers as possible, they put out a more general message and are too afraid to call out a specific type of customer. You spend a ton of time around your customers. You understand their problems and pains, as well as they. Go ahead help them out.

You are far better off putting out multiple more targeted messages that are more likely to engage a specific audience to sell your product than to put out one coverall message. Let's take a look at a couple of examples.

True, this lathe has tons of features that would have a seasoned shop owner salivating, but let's take all of this one step further.

Small shop owners, are you not getting your work through your machines fast enough? Are there parts sitting in front of machines, waiting to set up for the next operation? And, are your machine changeovers taking too long? Much better right? You're solving their problems in terms that impact them, not just explaining the features and benefits of this great tool.

It doesn't sound bad; let's take it a bit deeper. What do homeowners REALLY want?
