Where is Your Passion?
As a franchise consultant, one of the things I like to ask my clients is, where is your passion? Is it for what the business is or what it does for you??
Client Success Story
I have stories of clients in the past, none of whom woke up in the morning and said, “Gee, I'd like to run a painting company”, and yet they all ended up doing just that. Why is that? One guy was in the beverage industry as a salesperson for decades before getting into a painting business.? He liked it because he could go out to customer sites. He was a real extroverted kind of guy. He was happy that he could go out to customer sites and talk with people and help close the sale.?
Building an Empire
Another client that I worked with was a professional football player and he liked the painting business, because it was a lot like football. In football there is a playbook and you can follow the plays, that's what he was good at, executing on plays for a given situation.?
There was another client, with the same painting company, he was an NBA graduate and he wanted to build an empire.? He saw this as a means to his end of empire building to build a sales team, an operations team, and a multi-unit territory. And he achieved just that.
