Where is Your Heart?

Where is Your Heart?

Changing a child's behavior is not really The Solution. Changing his or her heart is the real answer. Parents must set themselves to the heart of the child so that they can lead them to Jesus Christ. And the pastor needs to see this in the Word of God so as to teach the Truth on how God's Word points over and over again to the heart. Jesus Christ warns "Don't you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man `unclean. ' For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander."

But some Pastors make serious mistakes in their teaching and here is one example that I have heard from many pulpits: In teaching about Gideon and his faith they teach that "being alert" was the reason the 300 were chosen to defeat a force 400 times larger. NOPE the message concerns the heart not alertness: Alertness played no part in the battle plan nor in why or how they won this miraculous battle. The defeat of the Midianites shows us that with the right heart and an obedient spirit man can defeat a much bigger foe much like the David-Goliath story. Some seminaries apparently teach that God chose those last 300 men by how alert they were when drinking water from the spring. They suggest that God chose the 300 because they were observant of their surroundings as they lapped like dogs with their eyes looking to-and-fro. Really?

Note that Gideon started with 32,000 men and by the time God finished guiding Gideon’s selection there were only 300. Since I was trained to be a specialist in the physiology of the mouth and tongue, I know that humans cannot lap like a dog- It is physiologically impossible because the human tongue cannot curl like a dog (forming a cup effect that allows it to draw in water). Our tongue has striations of muscle that only allows it to roll- so our tongue cannot cup the water! It makes more sense to BOTH the text and spirit of the Word that God miraculously gave 300 men the ability to lap like a dog so that Gideon could visually select those soldiers whom God found faithful and true. Those 300 crouched down and cupped the water as they lapped. Only God knew the hearts of those men and only He knew which 300 had the faith and the right heart to represent Him in victory. The entire enemy force had exactly 400 times the number of soldiers and in chaos they ended killing each other. The number, 400, is the perfect number for God to accomplish His purpose. All this is revealed in the new book Cosmic Crossroad Countdown: the Invisible War & Final Chapter.

Matthew 12:34-35: “A good man out of the treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil." In the beatitudes Jesus says that those with a pure heart will be blessed. Throughout the Word---it is the heart that points to the right actions of man -- involving also the mind and soul. Understand this- God is judging the World right now and He is blessing those whose hearts are right.

I always thought it was because they used their hands like men rather than lap like dogs...
