Be Where Your Feet Are #1
Messaging matters. It matters as a Leader and Manager. It matters as a Parent. It matters as a Coach. When a message is meaningful and consistent, it influences our subconscious, reinforces our aspirations, reminds us what matters most and acts as a reminder that we are not alone in this journey called life. These past few months, pacing my hallways and kitchen on conference calls, I have become acutely aware that the messages we placed throughout our home to encourage our children have, in fact, been inspiring and uplifting me. Today I share with you a photo of one of these messages with the hopes of sharing one weekly for the foreseeable future. Those of you who know me well, you will appreciate and understand my innate desire to share positivity and inspiration –
“It is not happy people who are thankful, it is thankful people who are happy.” This quote adorns our kitchen walls and is one of my favorites. I wholly believe gratitude is one of the world’s most powerful forces. For over two years, my 13-year-old daughter has maintained a daily streak of journaling 11 things for which she is thankful… she has yet to duplicate an entry. While I am proud to boast a casual, running Gratitude List in my iPhone, today I challenge myself - what is holding me back from the consistent and diligent approach Eliza has taken? So I ask my LinkedIN family - How do you record those moments for which you are grateful? How do you show appreciation for those who have influenced you? What can you share as a reminder, tool or reinforcement that we can leverage in our lives to help us on our journey to be more grateful...and inevitably happier?
Hopeful you found this quote and post inspiring, refreshing or calming and it stimulated a moment of thoughtfulness or gratitude in your life. If so – please share your thoughts with me, and let’s continue to lift each other up. It matters and helps you be where your feet are.

4 年Scott - that's fantastic - you're doing a great job; keep it up. I saw a quote once in a small Kathmandu, Nepal hotel ... "If you believe it will work out - you will see opportunities. If you believe it won't, you will see obstacles."
