Where is Your Confidence?

Where is your trust and confidence?

Could it be that your trust is in your friends? Might you have put in your expertise? Is it in your business? In your abilities? In your wealth? Maybe in your Job? Or even in your spouse? Your well-connected family members? Have you put in your connections and network? Is it in your education?

Aha! Is your trust and confidence in science? Is it in the seemingly formidable yet fickle systems of the World? Be it Health systems, Economic systems, Governance systems, Education systems, or Social Systems.

Allow me to ask again. Where have you put your trust and confidence in?

I believe in the Holy Bible as the manufacturer’s manual. In it contains the blueprint of creation and the essence of life. While referring to it, my attention was drawn to the book of Micah 1:1-7. Verses 1 to 4 describe the misery of a nation that painfully is the state of the present world. Men lying in wait to shed blood. Bribery and corruption in the corridors of justice. The powerful are conspiring and dictating what they desire. A state of hopelessness and despair.

Verses 5 warns us not to put our trust in a neighbor nor confidence in a friend. Not even in a spouse. Why? Because “a man’s enemies are the members of his own household” as verse 6 states. Isn’t the world around us full of cases that give credence to this?

In times of crisis, our friends are bound to disappoint us. The adage goes that a friend in need is a friend in indeed. It is also said that one is not yet your friend until they have seen your darkest and stayed. This also is true that a true friend is one who walks in when everybody else is walking out. ?Furthermore, a friend can never be truly known in prosperity and an enemy can never be truly hidden in adversity.

Our neighbors will skim against us. Our spouses are likely to abandon us. The world systems will fail us and indeed have failed while some are collapsing. Science will never answer any of life’s 5 biggest questions. So, where is hope in the midst of hopelessness and despair? Where should we put our trust and confidence?

Or in my team of experts. Or even in my own abilities, skills and expertise as a Communications Designer and Strategist.

“But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me,” declares Micah 7:7.

Friends and Foe! Brothers and Sisters! Children of the Most High God! Hear oh yee! There is only one place we can put our confidence. And that is in our Lord God Almighty, creator of heaven and earth and sustainer of life. His name is Jesus Christ. He is the savior of mankind. He never disappoints. He never fails. He never abandons. He is good and his love endures forever, his faithfulness through all generations (Psalm 100:5). He is our firm foundation. He is our rock of ages. He is our prince of peace(Isaiah 9:6-7). He is our mighty counselor. He is our hope of glory. And he is the desire of nations (Haggai 2:7). In him, there is fullness of Joy.

Is Jesus Christ your Lord, God, and Savior? You can never trust or put confidence in someone you do not know or have a relationship with. Accept him now. Welcome him into your heart. He is waiting for you to open the door of your heart. Allow him into your life to be your Lord and God. Then you will experience his Salvation as you daily walk with him declaring, “YES LORD! IN YOU ALONE I PUT MY TRUST.” Hallelujah!
