Where you are versus where you want to be
You just want things to be different…
A big roadblock to getting to your health and wellness goals is the lack of clarity at the beginning, and you just want things to be different; there is this urgency to see a visible difference in/ on your body, this urgency to get to a fitness goal that you are not sure of what it is yet.?
That urgency is natural or more like normal, but we need to take a moment to break things down.?
Only then can you have a clear picture of your fitness goal and exactly what it would take to get there this time, having more intentions, clarity, and calm.
Where you are and where you want to be
Think about Thrive in Motion as a vehicle that takes you where you want to be, but the car starts off from where you are currently.
Where are you today? Understanding your starting point
Assessing and knowing your current state physically and mentally, is not just about acknowledging your weight, but also your habits, your emotional well-being, bias, expectations, and mindset toward fitness, food, and health.
Acknowledging what you are capable of doing in terms of exercise
Access to certain foods
Your environment etc?
Identifying beliefs and behaviors you have acquired from past experiences in fitness,?
?example, maybe you believe you are bad at sports, or that being? overweight runs in the family, or that you plateaued for too long? and that your metabolism is damaged ….it could be any belief ….think of any you might have?
?
Identifying your emotional triggers like stress, pain, boredom, etc
This is your starting point?
Knowing where you are at the start of any fitness journey already brings about a level of self-awareness to your journey, and you are 60% on your way to changing the mindset and belief that would not serve you going forward.

Now, Where you want to be
With a picture of where you are …you start to have an idea of where you want to be, and more like where you do not want to be anymore because, with your current knowledge, you might not have a clear understanding of there
However, you have a sense of what you want to feel like, experience, and the kind of life you want to live.?
This will help you go from setting vague goals like, I want to be fit, or I want to lose weight to I want to eat 5 servings of vegetables daily, or I want to exercise 3 times a week, or I want to drink 5 cups of water daily.
Why set these kinds of goals? It is called process goals because they take you toward the outcome you are looking to?
For example, if your goal is to exercise 3 times a week, where you hardly did 1 exercise a week, to exercise 3 times a week for one month successfully definitely means you are fitter than you ware?
Next is understanding your why….I used to hate hearing “ know you're why,” like when people said I didnt understand it; I just wanted to lose weight just for the sake of weight loss….now I know that wasn't the case
I wanted to lose weight to feel better about myself; it meant being beautiful to me, and I value beauty.
?It doesnt have to make sense to anyone but you. This is really important.
Why does this goal matter so much? Why do you have to be leaner or weigh less than you currently weigh
Personalize it, and it is for you, not for other people; maybe you want to be leaner because that way, you will be more beautiful and more confident, or you will weigh less because it is crucial for your health.
Ask yourself, why is beautiful important to me,?
How does leaner mean more beautiful
What does beautiful mean to you
This will help you discover if this is in line with your values
Lastly, picture where you want to be?
What does success feel and look like?
Where you are to where you want to be is about more than just the outcome of your fitness goals.?
It is about transforming the process and journey into a fulfilling and sustainable lifestyle change.?
