Where are you suffering? A story not really about avocados

Where are you suffering? A story not really about avocados

Almost every morning my husband and I have avocado toast with hardboiled egg and paprika salt. Yum! So every morning I pull out a cereal bowl from the cabinet, cut and scoop out the avocado from its skin, and mash it in the bowl. The cereal bowls are too small for this job. So I am constantly pushing the mashed avocado down off the rim of the bowl so it doesn’t fall out, while at the same time trying to mash the chucks still in the bottom of the bowl without making a huge mess. Today, after so many months (years?) of suffering around this little process, I said to myself: “hey, we have a food blog and a huge inventory of dishes and bowls. Why am I not using a bigger bowl?”

There wasn’t a good size bowl in the kitchen, so I looked in a few other cabinets and found the perfect sized bowl, and now I can mash those avocados no problem without any worries of making a mess. How long did I do the same thing over and over again just because it was a habit, even though it didn’t work, or could have been done better? Way too long!

So my invitation to you today is to find an area in your personal or professional life, where you are suffering, even just a tiny bit, and see if there is a solution right in front of your face. If you don’t see it right away, maybe you need to look in another cabinet for the bowl that is just the right size to give you some freedom and peace of mind.

If you find you have several areas you are suffering in your business because you can’t handle it all, you know where to find me.
