Where are we Going? To Market
In September's update I discussed how we are building an Exec Search business that already in 2019 has partnered with legendary companies such as: GitLab, Exabeam, Even, Semmle, Mattermost, WeWork, ScaleAI, App Annie, Blueboard, Udemy, Skip Scooters, Blade and many more.
What are we building? Modern Search = Depth x Breadth
Depth
The generalist search partners that hire "executives" but refuse to specialize in a function are following the well-worn tracks of the brontosaurus. Today's search partners are: deeply specialized, consultative, and understand the function well enough to advise founders what to look for in the role.
For example, our newest Partner Tommy Jenkins combines 15 years recruiting experience with operational expertise. Tommy launched the global Sales & Marketing search practice at Robert Walters. Most recently he has built 3 services and SaaS software companies from being employee #1, where he has worn hats such as: CEO, CRO, COO. As our Go-To-Market Partner, Tommy will be leading searches such as (you guessed it): CEO, CRO, COO.
Breadth
All of this specialization is great! Companies can work with expert search partners, but finding a new expert for each executive hire and bringing them up to speed on your organization isn't efficient... That's why modern search firms will offer both depth and breadth.
Our Ejento Exec team currently consists of 3 partners covering: People & Talent, Engineering & Security, Go-To-Market. Build the team, build the product, build the business.
Breadth also refers to geographies. Today's talent cannot be confined to a single zip code. Our Ejento Exec team is based in talent hubs: SF, LA, NYC, and we are supporting growing companies in all of these cities.
