Where to Travel 2022...

Here we are, once again closing a year out shrouded with uncertainty. It's been another rocky year of travel.??

We have battled with translating and reacting to government travel restrictions, we have learnt how to function with thousands of travel credits and we have??developed new trips for the staycation market. So it's been one busy year to say the least. But I know we're all looking forward to an even busier one next year, but one we hope will be more business as usual than business in lockdown.

I am optimistic for next year. Here are a couple of reasons why..

  1. Demand is through the roof. Once what was a given, now is a gift. The world has had international somewhat suspended for 18 months and now we are even more grateful for it.
  2. Travel Agents are pulling back - never has the value of a travel agent been more obvious than against a backdrop of travel restrictions and changing plans. Having booked two trips through an agent this year I will not go back to booking myself.

And as is customary for my colleagues and I at this time of year to think about where we want to travel next.

So here are my top three travel destinations for 2022.?Dehli to Kathmandu Quest

Dehli to Kathmadhu Quest - Contiki

What I miss most of all about travel is that moment of realisation when you are so far away from home and experiencing something so different. Nothing achieved that more for me than India. And this trip combines exploring Northern India and journeying up into Nepal, a part of the world I haven't got to yet. I would love to visit Varanasi and take a river journey on the Gangees and then head up to Chitwan National Park, one of the last places possible to see the one-horned rhino and the Bengal Tiger??

Costa Rica ??

This year has enabled more time to learn from and about some of our local operators. Oli has been running our Contiki trips for a over 5 years and so passionate about all the wildlife and nature of his homeland. I've never been to Costa Rica but can already imagine the Surfing in Playa Tamarindo, the Hiking on the Arenal Volcano… plus coffee, plus chocolate.

Pride 2022

What hasn't happened much in the past 18 months… dancing with thousands of people on the streets thats what! So, we are very excited to run our first ever Pride trips next year, this one takes in Amsterdam and Berlin's festivals, which are hands down some of the best European Cities. These trips will celebrate the culture, the cities, the history and all of our LGBTQIA+ family.?
