Where only Superheros Dare to Tread

Imagine an enormous green forest thick with large, strong, dark trees. It is dawn. Sunlight’s first rays pierce the foliage, splintering into a glowing spectrum of colours as it casts across branch, leaf and moss before twinkling on the light mist that covers the forest floor like an everchanging carpet of the unknown. The air is silent and the feeling is one of intense calm and inexorable stillness. This space brings unity, this place brings centered connection, mother-earth energy. Deep in this beautiful forest mist circles around the angles of a magical forest she-elf. Defined, strong. Her personality has arisen from this mist and claimed her power as surely as the sunlight brings in the new day and the opportunity for a new start. Her eyes twinkle. There is connection, nurturing, rhythm... but also stillness and balance. She knows and owns the forest. This presence and this place, everything about her draws you in so that you can’t help but draw a deeper, slower breath. A deepening calm, a more powerful centeredness. Everywhere she walks, this energy radiates captivatingly. Feel it affect you... Into any situation. One on one, with friends, with new contacts, with groups. When she shows up people easily come into flow with her energy and feel very open to the knowledge she shares.

Today at iLab we have had a very real, challenging workshop on personal branding, lining up our unique individuality with examples of some of the best in the world, those that have discovered, embraced, and live their true passion powerfully. Dissecting the homepages of these individuals reveals many lessons. I thought I was fairly clear but came away from this session literally with pages and pages of notes, updates and changes.

What landed for me is that personal branding. Identity... this - truly is the foundational building block that defines every one of us from pre-employment all through the spectrum to legend. In Wink, it is Roger’s ‘Optometrist’ who says “When your vision becomes stronger than your memory, your future self will become more true than your past self and you change.” And “When your vision becomes real, this asset becomes so valuable. I learned that no matter how strong a brand you have built, or how many people you connect with, there is always another level. That this clarity is only one step off the critical foundation in the pursuit of the creation of an Enterprise, and that there is incredible benefit in pondering over and over who, when, how and why we create new enterprises that serve the customers around us.
