WINAICO’s high efficiency WST-260P6 polycrystalline module achieves class A for INMETRO certification, paving the way to the emerging Brazilian solar market.

WINAICO, Taiwan’s largest PV module brand, has worked with Laboratório de Energia Solar (LABSOL) to achieve class A rating for WST-260P6 polycrystalline modules with INMETRO certification. The certification allows WINAICO to begin shipping to the emerging Brazilian solar market as well as the South American markets.

Brazil is a country blessed with daily solar irradiance levels between 4.25 and 6.5 kWh/m2, levels much higher than most European countries, where distributed solar installations are most popular. Combining the high solar irradiance levels and the recent changes to the net metering policy to take effect in March 2016, Brazil’s National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) expects the country to install 4.5 GW of new installations by 2024.

“Brazil is subject to extreme weather conditions such as hail, heat, humidity and heavy rain. WINAICO’s high quality modules can withstand the weather conditions in Brazil”, said Jonathan Barni, Owner of Solarstrom Energia. “We are confident that WINAICO modules can maintain peak performances throughout the year.”

“WINAICO strives to deliver high quality solar modules around the world”, said Davis Chen, Chairman and CEO of WINAICO. “Achieving class A rating for INMETRO paves the way for WINAICO to begin shipping to the emerging Brazilian solar market.”
