"Where there is a need, there is a Lion"

Dear Fellow Lions,

I have an important question for you: Are we truly sensitive to the needs of our fellow Lions? Our motto, "We Serve," and the phrase "Where there is a need, there is a Lion" do not solely apply to those in need outside our organization; they also extend to our fellow Lions. When a fellow Lion calls, texts, or sends a simple good morning message, if we don't have the basic courtesy to respond or call them back, what does that say about our commitment as members of Lions Clubs?

As of today, our global membership stands at 1,360,561, with 24,606 members leaving. In MD306, we have 18,116 members, with a drop of 492. Yet, it seems that few are concerned about why members are leaving. Every day, we add new members, and every day, we lose members. This cycle should prompt us to reflect on our attitudes and approach.

I believe we need to restructure and rethink how we engage with each other. In my opinion, Lions Clubs are facing a decline, and if we don't act, Lionism may cease to exist within the next 15-20 years. Let’s work together to ensure that our organization remains strong, not just in numbers, but in the connections and support we offer to one another.

I like to add, where there is a Lion, there is a Hero.
