?? Where my podcast is going in July 2021 ??

So I just wanted to make a quick announcement about the future direction of the create your own life podcast. That has been going since November 20th of 2015.

We are almost in our sixth year of the show. It's been going a long time and there's been a lot of changes and iterations and things like that over the years.

There's a new direction we're going moving forward. Without you our there listening, none of what I do here will be possible.

Over the past year and a half, the current global situation has pushed me to discuss subjects I shied away from in the past. You probably noticed the new introduction to episodes; I want to talk about things that matter.

Given that' we've lost about 40% of the shows audience, and those of you that remain I'm so grateful for. In the past year, we've had Patrick Byrne, Robby Starbuck, Mike Lindell, Dr. Sherri Tenpenny, Vernon Jones and many more people that have messages that need to be heard; in 2019 I wouldn't have told them.

We've continued to have incredible people as we always do; Eagles Hall of Famer Brain Dawkins, Hala Taha and many more.

I only have so much time in so much ability to do things and to do good work at that.

I've always had two requirements for what we do here at CYOL:

The quality of it has to be high. It has to be well done.

What I'm doing has to feel like it matters to me.

That was one of the main reasons that in the past six months, I've put so much attention on the video version of the show. We've been through three different cameras, we've been through four different lighting setups. We even have a new camera coming next month, which I'm excited to test.

I've really been focusing on the best version of this show we can absolutely have possible.

That being said, the show will no longer be 3 days a week, we're going from 3 days down to 2 days, and we're also kind of changed some formats on some things.

Since we now have a limited number of real estate for interview spots, we're going to be very, very particular about who comes on the show. Since, we're only gonna have one interview show a week.

We're going to continue to have incredible long form conversations, but I've seen a few things with those of you out there on social media, especially Instagram, about what I really want to do.

That's give you an ability to connect to our high level guests more and communicate with our high level guests more and, and the way that I've been doing that. I've been kind of testing a couple different things here is in stories; I've been asking people if they want to ask questions and using the question feature, which has been great.

I didn't think it would work as well, but we had 25 different people submit questions for the recent episode we had a with Frank Shamrock, which is going to be our first episode of the new version in July.

We used three of those questions and shout out to the people that did that. For our recent interview with Vernon Jones, we had over 50 people submit questions for Vernon Jones, which is really exciting.

So what I'm trying to do is continue to have the incredible long form conversations we have, with the right particular people, on the right particular topics and subjects, but also the same time, give access to those of you out there that listen to the show.

We've gotten some really great feedback from guests, from the type of questions people are asking. What I'm trying to create here is better quality interviews with the right people, that also allows those of you out there that do listen to engage with our guests in a way that's really meaningful.

In addition to that, there is going to be a solo component to what we do. I've been looking at how it's gone because surprisingly, the episodes that have been most listened to of the show have been those of literally just me talking about something for five, 10, 15 minutes on the show, and it's not even been close.

It's been by a long shot, which is surprising.

So that being said, we're going to be no longer be doing any interviews on that second episode. So, it would be one interview episode a week and then the second interview episode, which is a content piece for me.

The thing I want to do is start bringing in some of the books I'm reading, some of the lessons I'm learning, some of the articles I've read, because I really want to create a place for you and I to have an open dialogue and education about what's going on.

So the future of create your own life is going to be coming at you the first week of July with our first guest Frank Shamrock. The second interview will be with Nicole Arbour.

I'm very excited for the direction things are going and excited to take this journey with you.

Cheers,

Jeremy Slate
