Where to be "looking what is cooking" in the art-world just by scrawling your Gram?

72 Instagram profiles to follow in order to update on relevant cultural production from the comfort of your bed.

Monday 2 March 2020

If you are busy just as most career achievers are, and devote marginal attention to cultural production, you might be asking yourself what art should you currently pay attention to. (Let's say you are plotting an intellectual date at the art gallery or you are purchasing on behalf of the interior design firm)

If you find gallery visits intimidating and have no art advisor at hand whom should you trust?

The new art buyer's decisions can be overwhelming by the shire volume of information waiting to upload, and despite your ninja google skills, are you even consuming the correct information if you are to navigate alone?

Well, worry not. In today's world the media is dramatically effecting the entire art-world ecosystem. The communication is becoming much easier, transparency is slowly creeping in and collectors or audience that desires to know can gather information in the speed of light (or speed of your mobile provider) IF you are to tap into the art crowd of shaker and movers.

From personal experience, it has taken years to build a grid of art-historical/ critical knowledge and relevancy that I daily update on as it is an ever-evolving process of gathering data and visual experience, therefore no one should ever feel intimidated by not knowing. It is a very slow and lengthy process.

To navigate, I have assembled 72 profiles of art professionals such as curators, art dealers, collectors or entrepreneurs of various professions, that are active on Instagram and expose the art that they are interested in zooming their "train eye" or conceptual interest on. If you are of similar origin, profession or interest dive in.

And best of it all is, their data are available from the comfort of your bed. And if you happen to fall in love through the phone screen, go and see it. The work of art is usually better looking in flesh.
