You read that right — this is a (friendly) newsletter takeover!

For those of you who don’t already know me, my name is Sarah Willis Ertur and I joined SaverLife as the Executive Vice President back in May. To say these last few months have gone by quickly would be an understatement, but now that I’ve settled into this role Leigh suggested I swoop in and do a newsletter ‘takeover’ to introduce myself and share some exciting news.

So first off, hello. I can’t tell you what an honor it is to be part of this team: a team that I’ve been proudly supporting for nearly a decade through various roles including, most recently, the head of Financial Health for Global Philanthropy at JPMorgan Chase and Director at MetLife Foundation where I looked after a portfolio of global digital and innovation investments.

As it turns out, the SaverLife organization feels like home — we’re agile, data-driven, and as they say in the private sector, "customer-obsessed"!

While there is always trepidation that things won’t be as they seem from the outside, all of the qualities that I held true about SaverLife as an external champion have been reinforced as the newest member of the team:

• SaverLife has differentiated itself as a nonprofit in the financial health space that’s bringing data and the human experience together to make real impact at both the individual and systems level. Everything we put out is informed and shaped by the financial data and personal stories our members entrust to us. ?
• Leigh Phillips is a dynamic leader at the helm of SaverLife. With deep industry experience and a real commitment to creating solutions based on what our members tell us they need, rather than being told what they need, Leigh has convinced me that, alongside our partners, we can create the conditions in our economy that lead to durable and transformational financial health outcomes that persist despite climate change, inflation, and volatile political cycles.
• SaverLife has an eye toward the future. By understanding the necessity of scalability and the power of technology, I have watched SaverLife stay ahead of the curve — building the first ever financial health tech platform specifically for people living on low-to-moderate incomes. And now, finding new ways to bring in personalization and AI to further improve our members’ experiences and create more opportunities for impact.

In last month’s newsletter, Leigh shared two new member videos highlighting how they use our platform and engage in our community to improve their financial health. What she didn’t share was a third video — one that features her and underscores how and why we’re building a brighter financial health future for our members and the millions of Americans like them.
