Where Has Ryanair Been Flying Its Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft?

Leading low-cost #airline #Ryanair received its first #Boeing #737 MAX #aircraft more than a year ago. The type has subsequently been making its way around Europe and northern Africa, despite the initial rollout of the type being fairly gradual as the airline got used to its new plane. Simple Flying made the decision to visit some of the locations where the airline operates its unique 197-seater Boeing 737 MAX variant.

Ryanair has received 73 Boeing 737 MAX-8-200 aircraft so far (out of a total order of 210), all of which have been delivered after June 2021. On June 16 of last year, the first aircraft, designated EI-HEN, was delivered. A week later, it started flying. Since we are unable to examine all 73 planes, we will instead focus on five of them. We will start with the oldest first edition and end with the newest jet in the fleet.

By delivery date, EI-HEN is Ryanair's oldest Boeing 737 MAX. Ryanair placed the order for the aircraft on November 28, 2014, and it was delivered on June 16. The aircraft, which made its first flight on March 19, 2021, is currently 1.4 years old, per information from ch-aviation.com. As previously reported by Simple Flying, on June 23 of last year, EI-HEN ran Ryanair's inaugural passenger Boeing 737 MAX service.

Data from FlightRadar24.com shows that the plane was initially utilised for flights departing from Ryanair's base in London Stansted (STN). However, as of June 29, 2022, it appears to be based in Edinburgh (EDI), from where it regularly makes appearances in Gothenburg, Madrid, Cork, Krakow, Tenerife, Lanzarote, and Rome, among many other locations.

You might be excused for questioning why the registrations are different. One of the 28 Boeing 737 MAX models used by Malta Air, a subsidiary of Ryanair. It was delivered in December 2021, making it 1.4 years old as of today (as it could not be delivered while the MAX was still grounded). The jet's operational base is Milan Bergamo (BGY), from which it primarily flies to Valencia, Stockholm, Naples, Catania, Cork, and Cologne.

Despite arriving later than other MAXs in Ryanair's fleet, EI-HEW, one of the oldest models, was delivered in March 2022. This 2.7-year-old aircraft is stationed at Stansted Airport, one of the mainline carrier's bases in London. The majority of its hops from there transport travellers to Bologna, Toulouse, Luxembourg, Girona, and Santander.

EI-HGM is stationed at Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport after being delivered in May 2022. (AGP). Ryanair then dispatches the 1.3-year-old aircraft to pick up and drop off vacationers in cities including Manchester, Eindhoven, Hamburg, Haugesund, and Dublin.

9H-VVA, which was delivered on June 16, 2022, is the newest Boeing 737 MAX to enter Ryanair's fleet (or, in this case, Air Malta's fleet). The jet only recently completed final construction as this article was being written. At Paris Beauvais Airport (BVA), the airline is operating its newest special-varieties MAX on routes to, among other destinations, Tangier, Pafos, Treviso, and Tallinn.
