Where has all the Science gone, hiding behind Data Science ?

Medicine class now on would be statistics class only (Pun intended)-  Has the Corona virus changed the Medical science ?, all discussions about Curves-Rising, Curve Flat, Curve re rising ..... nothing else or no other sense. - Where is the Science here, Medicine, Biology .... ?

Being in Data Science for so many years - I always insist (even against thousands opining otherwise) - Data Science should be the science leading to CAUSES and causal inferences - should lead to actionable intelligence (the real AI = actionable Intelligence) not big deal to call it Artificial Intelligence and brag about if - just to put a stamp of human-made !.

 Is there an iota of actionable intelligence in most of the Corona virus discussions ?, the actionable intelligence should be Driven-by-Real-Science and measured by Data-Science, not the other way round.

Data Science cannot be an alternative to Real-Science nor it can assume a larger than need place in Science - allowing Data- Science to EAT-AWAY the space real-science really deserves is being foolish. 

DO not have the knowledge or power to assess and say if this virus was man-made or not, nor want to discuss such a controversial topic, but for sure a lot of the crisis that followed is man-made. the way it is handled and conclusions drawn basis the undue importance given to Data-Science (read at the cost of demeaning Real Science).

Though the places (countries) where some good control is established and is demonstrated basis of data-science does have real science behind it, that is getting embedded beneath the Statistical pile up and the real message gets hidden.

Being (Blindly) Data-Driven or Driven by Inference from Data to help Science ?
