Where To Get Your Content Inspiration From?
You know the feeling of being somewhat stuck with your content, don't you? You may have your promotional calendar around the biggest events of the year, including Christmas, Easter, School Holidays etc., but since promoting and selling supposed to take only 20% of your content, where do you get ideas for the remaining 80%?
There are some tricks around that, with looking at what your competitors are doing, having competitions, polls, but you will still need an angle. Well, what worked for me and my clients amazingly in recent years was creating the content with Special Occasion Days in mind. It may sound silly and trivial, but it does wonders, trust me!
If you have not looked on special days and occasions of the year calendar, you may want to start now. And looking through July there are so many incredible days worth celebrating! There is a Kissing Day (today) and tomorrow we have a Chocolate Day. A few days ago there was a Dog Day, while later in the month there is an Ice Cream Day, a Chess Day and even a Wine & Cheese Day.
One of the biggest advantage of creating your posts around occasion days is that there’s most likely to be a #hashtag for it. And as you know, the more people use it, the more people see it. Just a simple trick to cheat algorithms ;-)
One more thing to think about is that you are increasing your chances for exposing your products and services to audience that otherwise would not have found you. You may just touch their sweet spot, find a new niche only because you talked about ‘chocolate day’ when everyone else was talking about it, too.
The special days may not be all feasible for your content as they are, but they may give you an idea for the post, for the image or your blog.
The bottom line is, that you never know when your next customer will come from and using special occasion days as an inspiration is just another way, along with helping you with creating some fresh content, to create new opportunities for your business.
