Maritime tech firm raises £2.2m??
Aberdeen-based tech startup RAB-Microfluidics has raised £2.2 million after a successful funding round led by Part Equity.??
The investment marks the second cash injection for the firm in two years after a £1.25m raise in January 2021.??
RAB-Microfluidics says it plans to increase headcount and move to larger premises at Aberdeen’s Energy Development centre to accelerate manufacturing of its flagship “lab on a chip” product.?
DataVita plans expansion to Fortis data centre?
DataVita has announced plans to expand the capacity of its flagship Fortis data centre.?
The multi-cloud services provider has invested £8 million to add an extra 400 racks to the data centre, taking it up to 1,500 sq. m. of technical space. Long-term, the firm said the expansion opens up the opportunity provide a further 3,000 sq. m. at the facility.?
Combined with plans to deliver Scotland’s first metro data centre in Glasgow, the expansion means DataVita will provide an additional 550 racks of capacity in the Central Belt.?

Startups chosen for extended pitches at EIE22?
Nine startups have been selected for extended pitches at the EIE conference next month.?
The selected startups are CyberShell, Continulus, FC Labs, InFix, Lenz Labs, Microplate Dx, Pogo Studio, SMASH, and Hoolr.?
Participating companies seek to raise between £500,000 and £3m in investment. The remaining 28 firms in this year’s EIE cohort will also make shorter pitches on the day.?

Kick ICT marks eighth deal in seven years with Consilium acquisition??
IT services provider Kick ICT Group Ltd has acquired Consilium UK for an undisclosed sum.?
The deal marks the eighth in seven years for Kick ICT, and comes as the firm expands its services to customers across the UK.?
Kick ICT said the acquisition has resulted in an expanded and enhanced technical division within the group, extending the portfolio of IT products, services and support provided to both the SME and Enterprise markets.?

Check Point CISO appointed to National Cyber Resilience Advisory Board?
Check Point has announced that Deryck Mitchelson , Field CISO EMEA at Check Point, has become a member of Scotland’s National Cyber Resilience Advisory Board (NCRAB).?
Mitchelson boasts more than 30 years of experience in the cybersecurity industry and has been recognised as one of the UK’s most influential CISOs. Prior to his role at Check Point, Mitchelson served as National Digital and Chief Information Security Officer for NHS Scotland.??
Joining the advisory board, Mitchelson will work alongside leaders and influencers from across the private, public and third sectors to provide strategic advice to support Scottish Ministers and the Scottish Government.?

Trojan Energy to spearhead roll-out of new EV charging points?
Trojan Energy has secured a £4.65-million contract to install electric vehicle charging points across London.??
The Aberdeen-based firm will install over 500 charging points in Barnet following the deal.??
The firm’s ‘flat and flush’ charge points?will be located across 34 of Barnet’s streets and will be operational in phases by November 2022 and March 2023.?
