Where Does Peace Live?

Does peace have a particular home on Earth? Yes, I'd say it has many.
One example is Mount Shasta in northern California, where I spent last weekend.
This 14,000' high mountain is more than just a stunning natural landmark; it is a powerful spiritual beacon that has drawn seekers for centuries. Known for its majestic presence and towering beauty—you can see it 50+ miles away—it is often described as an energy vortex, a place where the veil between the physical and spiritual worlds feels thin.
Many believe Mount Shasta is a gateway to other realms, home to ancient wisdom and higher consciousness. Whether through meditation, quiet reflection, or simply being in its aura, people often report profound moments of clarity, connection, and a sense of something greater than themselves.
As a result, the town of about 3,000 residents attracts peace-loving individuals. For example, the Gateway Peace Garden—a free haven for visitors and residents alike—has a mission almost identical to that of our own community (i.e. this newsletter):
The message of the Gateway Peace Garden is “World Peace Through Inner Peace”. The mission is to steward a Consecrated Garden where one may experience a moment of Peace within the setting of Nature, and then carry that feeling of Peace into their daily lives and into the World. Peace within ourselves is a prerequisite to World Peace.
Personally, I had a profound experience at a free meditation session held at the Heart Light Crystal shop in town; the energy present in that room was so powerful that at one point I had to recollect myself.
I'm not telling you to go to Mount Shasta, although you will probably love it. I'm simply suggesting that there are equally peace-loving places in your part of the world, and it will be rewarding to spent some time there, if you can.
P.S. As a service to our community, please share in the comments your own example of such a place that you cherish.

2 个月The Pretty Place in SC is a showstopper for God’s natural masterpiece ?? It’s incredibly beautiful to walk around this mountaintop chapel and read all of the posted biblical scriptures and prayer requests from visitors while meditating and gazing out at the view. I call it my God-pause. This brings me peace and reminds me that I don’t have to carry it all or have life figured out. I can just BE. God is omnipresent. I trust in Him. Peace be with you ???
