A Topic we always are asked is where does cashmere from? Cashmere yarn is the perfect balance of soft and strong - ideal for a project to handle with love and care. So you may be interested in to what does cashmere made? Is cashmere made from rabbits or alpaca? DO ALL GOATS HAVE CASHMERE?

Firstly, cashmere goats are a type. There is no such thing as a "purebred" Cashmere goat, Most types of goat breeds, can produce this down in varied quantities and may be called Cashmere goats.

Each year one goat could produce a meager 4.5 oz of under fleece, 60% of each fleece is discarded. However, it is what happens next that makes the difference between run-of-the-mill and quality cashmere.

Cashmere producing areas remained in the Himalayan region throughout the first part of the 19th century, extending east to China and west to Iran, for the cashmere in bulk, primarily from India, China, Iran and Afghanistan.

The Pure cashmere comes from animals that live in Inner Mongolia, not outer, It produces a need to grow the finest and longest hairs, and the low temperature will help grow more. The fitter the goat, the finer the hair, preferring the climate whilst roaming the Gobi desert. They might look fat and content in the Australian bush but they are happiest in the cold Himalayas.?
