The start is always what stops most people, knowing what to do, how to do it, why you’re doing it are all questions that float around before you create a video marketing strategy. Here are my top pointers to breath some life into your video marketing strategy;
1. Who is your target audience and what do you want to achieve?
This first pointer sounds pretty obvious, but you would be surprised at how many people miss out this crucial step. You need to refer back to your overall business and marketing strategy and clearly define who you are targeting and what you are aiming to achieve.
2. Think about your brand or company as a whole; how do you want your company to be showcased? Where, within the customer journey should you be using video? Your target market should want to be customers, you competitors should be worried, and people will want to work for you
3. What is your story? Think about what you want people to think or feel when they think about your company, what is it that you want to tell them?
4. Where is it for? Instagram, Facebook Live, YouTube – your videos should be going where your target market is. Equally, if you are trying to communicate a message with staff internally, you need to think how you can engage them with video, do you need to consider personalised videos?
