Where do you “Max-Out?”

Where do you “Max-Out?”

We had an interesting discussion among my top clients today and, at our meeting in Virginia.

The question is at what point do you “Max – Out” or, said differently what’s your goal ultimately with your school.

I’ve had my schools hit pretty big active count numbers relative to their square footage and, had friends who have done that.? What do I mean, well a friend’s school with 1,300 square feet hit in the mid-600’s active, and my school with 2,400 was running at about that level for several years.

Also, I’ve seen a number of schools in the industry over the years that claimed 1,000 or more in a location – often with 10,000+ square footage.

Rarely (If ever) have I seen those schools, which sound (and, often look) very impressive be either very profitable nor, very efficiently run.?? They are often difficult to run effectively and as the active count often the % to the bottom line drops.

The schools that I was working with today, all seem to be on point to do $500,000 to $750,000 NET from more or less 300 active students in 2,200 to 2,800 square feet.

My personal preference has become 280-350 active with great retention and, 50%+ Net Profit.

To me that’s a point where you are able to keep track of everyone, where a “family” doesn’t become a crowd.?? It’s also a point where you can really maximize student results and, produce a ton of high quality Black Belts.

What are your thoughts on the subject?
