Where do we Stand ?
I have been observing India's position in term of technological advancement at a global level.
The existing studies shows that India is at a great distance in time, space and degree in Emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, advanced robotics and disruptive technology in all fronts.
It clearly shows that India's crooked politicians does not have even an iota of understanding of the potential impact of automation on Indian labour force and its economy.
The findings suggest that a vast portion of the Indian labour force is at a high risk being wiped out because of the impact of automation in a decade or so. At the same time, it also found that a vast proportion of the tasks that Indians currently perform can be automated using existing technologies available in the developed countries.
Data also reveals that, It has become imperative to use a different methodology, to accommodate the labour force by major job restructuring using existing and new technology according to the needs of the global and domestic market change.
As far as the claims of disruption by many a so called robotic companies in India could not produce any impact which could be marketable globally. All of them have been assemblers, as most of their components are imported from China, so where is the innovation and disruption. Anyway, partly the blame can be put on India's infrastructure. India’s inferior infrastructure will continue to greatly inhibit the country’s electronic component manufacturing abilities.
This suggests that there is an acute shortage of highly-skilled force and more highly-skilled force will be a significant driving force of India’s future growth. But regrettably, our current state of affairs does not permit to have a conducive environment to flourish such highly-skilled labour force. Few are there but indefinite in numbers, even they are flowing off gradually towards greener pasture.
Anyway, the need of the hour is to create opportunities that can equip the labour force to be adaptive and stay ahead to the dynamics of technological changes.
