Where do we go from here....

Where do we go from here....

The present & the past build the future. But prediction is a moonshot. Nobody predicted a pandemic. Yes, people speculated a pandemic, but predicting was a far cry. It is difficult to predict the future. So in the midst of the chaos, here are my 4 predictions of the next 20 months...and the top qualities most sought after, in individuals

No 1 - Key Countries will be more open to investments

Having your 80% of your suppliers in 1 country - China, will change. Am not debating if this is good or bad. It is putting your eggs in 1 basket, which begs to be thought through. What does it mean? There are around 30 nations vying for the "alternative tag". Here's the opportunity - in order to outdo each other for being the preferred place of supply.

Countries will drastically alter their line of thought on tax structure and clearances of projects. This will give rise to a more open economy, the ease of doing business framework will go through a massive change in countries, which matter. That's a very good step for the global economy, and yes China would also stand to benefit.

No 2 - Oil will no longer be a "point of power"

Oil will no longer be what it was strategically over the last 30 years. Oil will give way to a new dimension of power - stability. It does not matter how many nukes you have. How much stability you can guarantee your citizens will be the new power index. Organisations and countries will invest where stability and assurance of doing business happens. No one dare attack or destabilize a land where there are cross investments from the globe. It will incur the wrath of the most powerful nations and forces.

No 3 - Relationships will change

This is the jittery part. 2020 decade is a crazy, cocktail of millennial's coming into adulthood and Gen Z hitting 30s. How would we steer the generations which have been fed staple food of instant gratification. Like a virtual game, where you go on to the next level. Instantly. In case you can't - then, well... pay and move up to the next level. This is not a very good part.

We need to watch out for these immature thoughts of individuals, employees and in folks-we-love... when we build teams at workplace. Form relationships. Make friends. Do business. Finally the way families need to be reared. It is brutal hard work, sweat and tears. No instant noodle stuff.

No 4 - Real Estate Price will undergo rationalisation

Do we need to go to work. Should there be a work place for all employees. Do we need to stay close to work place. Should the work place be in the prime business district. Does place near an airport matter? Demand supply ratios of office spaces will undergo change - may be more affordable. We may see some migration away from metros.

So true, Gr8 points, I can relate to few points here also mentioned in one of the Books from Brian Tracy, No Excuses. One will have to walk the tough path to then receive gratification. Instant gratification does not make you a strong Metal and in times now, More of it will apply.!
